Do you have other sporting interests? I.e. follow or play other sports apart from Waterpolo.
I really enjoy to Surf and love being in the Sea. I do quite a bit of Indoor Rowing, doing all distances from sprinting to recently doing my first rowing marathon. I follow Manchester United but can’t play football at all. Love playing snooker but would like to be better at it.
Do you have any non-sporting hobbies?
I’m keen in the garden and love the British wildlife.
Who first introduced you to the game and when?
Mel Clark at Stretford Swimming Club was my first coach and I played for him winning National Finals for the club from being 14 to 18yrs old.
What are your plans once you stop playing Waterpolo?
Stop playing Waterpolo? No plans!
Would you consider coaching, if so which age group?
I can always see myself attached to Manchester Senior Men but coaching I think the Junior Men are for me.
Does your job affect your Waterpolo positively or negatively?
Both because being a shift worker its great for making a lot of training sessions but sometimes its difficult to get time off at weekends for the matches and for away trips but on the whole, Positively.
What would you say are the most important physical and mental qualities of a Waterpolo player?
In my opinion no matter how much and what training you do there is no substitute for good swimming ability and a lot of swim training. Mentally without Discipline in all areas refs, team mates, training, match preparation etc you are useless in this sport.
Do you have any major regrets with regards Waterpolo?
Firstly there is no room for regrets because I’ve learnt valuable lessons from the mistakes I’ve made but not adhering to the above qualities when I was playing in the National Team is one when I look back I suppose. I never went abroad to play club polo but I don’t see that as a big regret.
What is you favourite food?
Anything my gorgeous Fiancée makes, or fish by choice.
Where is your favourite holiday location?
Any Surf location, Hawaii and Fiji one day! For now Abersoch in North Wales and the windy Canary Islands.
