British Champs 2009
Manchester Women 2009 British Champions Classic final brings stunning victory.
Manchester Ladies played a nail biting Final in the British Championship V Liverpool.
Manchester went into the game knowing how tough it would be. Liverpool had a 2-1 win ratio from the National league.
The first quarter was tight ending 1 – 1, after giving Liverpool the first goal from a penalty. Scorer Kate
Second quarter again was a low scoring quarter with Liverpool finishing 3 – 2 up. Scorer Chloe
Third quarter was a no score quarter.
In the forth quarter the score was never more a goal difference, but always with Liverpool taking the lead and Manchester having to fight to bring the score back level. Scorers Victoria, Kate, Vicki
The game finished 5 – 5, which meant we went into extra time.
The first quarter started well with Manchester taking the lead for the first time since the second quarter and once again it was never more than a goal difference. Extra time finished 7 – 7. Scorers Chloe, Alex
We then went into Penalty’s
Sarah, Kate, Chloe , Victoria and Keri were our penalty takers. The first 5 penalties ended as 4 – 4, so now down to sudden death. Sarah scored, Liverpool scored, Kate scored, Robyn then saved Liverpool’s next penalty and Manchester were the champions.

Manchester retain the British Championship adding to last years victory.
