U19 2016 Qualifiers reports

U19 Boys & Girls Qualify for the Nag's Finals

Definitely a "game of two halves" must surely be the maxim for the u19 boys visit to Lancaster for the Qualification Round! In brief summary we beat Croydon 11.7, Bristol 15.9 but lost our last match to Exeter 6.10 - a decent recovery from a half time score of 1.7!!We seemed somewhat unable to control the matches in the first halves - winning just 1 quarter in the first half of all our games, drawing one quarter & losing the other 4 quarters. The second halves were a different story - winning 5 quarters and drawing one of them! A much improved performance over Gloucester though from all the lads (quick mention to hotshot Ben Ray with 10 goals) & I trust that the lads are actually just saving themselves for the Finals weekend!! Dedication to final training preparations will surely pay dividends to ensure we follow in our 97 clubmates footsteps who won all 3 of their NAG's titles.

Congratulations to all 4 of our U17/U19 girls/boys teams for qualifying to the Finals - Let's make it a clean sweep again!

Report thanks to Chris Riding.

The U19 Girls were in Watford for their Qualifiers against Liverpool,Otter,Mid Sussex Marlins and Exeter. They started in fine form with a 15-13 win over a very Strong Otter team. The Girls lost to Liverpool 6-8 in a very close match and then went on to beat Mid Sussex  Marlins  27-6 and Exeter 15-11.Due to technical reasons the team was being coached from the stands with messages being relayed to new acting poolside coach Sara Lord.

The Finals should be a great weekend with 8 of the U19s girls also playing in the U17s.Plenty of training will be required over the next 2 weeks.
